· Gaotian airbag defect continues to ferment China involves 1.15 million vehicles to be recalled

Recently, car recalls caused by Takada airbags have continued to ferment, and the number of recalls has also increased. More than 40 million vehicles worldwide have been recalled due to the safety hazards of Takada airbags, and this number is still expanding.
Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Mazda, Ford, Fiat Chrysler, GM, BMW and many other internationally renowned car companies have been "lying guns". The largest number of recalls is Honda, accounting for about half of the recall. And China has involved 1.15 million vehicles this year.
Earlier, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration released a message saying that Takada had admitted that the airbag was defective. At present, it is known that 6 people have died and more than 100 people have been injured. The published cases show that multiple death cases are caused by metal fragments flying out of the airbag when they are ejected. Why are so many cars using Takada airbags? What common sense do you need to know about airbag owners?
Since 2008, the Takada airbag problem has gradually been revealed, but even if the number of vehicle recalls using its airbags continues to expand, Takada has turned a deaf ear to it, saying it is “the automaker’s own move”. In February of this year, Takada, who did not cooperate with the investigation work of the US regulatory authorities, was fined a daily amount of 14,000 US dollars. Last month, Takada and the US security regulator agreed to further recall millions of vehicles equipped with Takada's defective airbags.
According to media statistics, the car company with the highest proportion of Takata airbag door recalls is Japanese, about 78%, followed by American car companies accounting for about 17%, and the least proportion of German car companies is about 5%. Among the US cars, the Fiat Chrysler Group recalled 5.22 million vehicles worldwide due to this hidden danger; Ford recalled more than 1.5 million vehicles and GM recalled 400,000. In the German car, the BMW "lying gun" was the most serious, and the number of recalls reached 2.03 million.
Cost control, profit-seeking and other factors have made car companies use Takata airbags in large quantities, which has also allowed Takada to have a large market share. Globally, companies that can independently produce airbags include Sweden's Autoliv, Japan's Takada, and American Trina. Takada's market share is one-fifth of the global market. At present, Takata's competing products are stepping up production of airbags to grab the market.
